PCD ball-nose end mills for 3D profiling
Prima Tooling manufactures PCD ball-nose end mills for machining curved surfaces, complex profiles, moulds and three-dimensional component forms. The ball-nose geometry allows smooth tool movement across contoured surfaces while PCD cutting edges provide long service life when machining abrasive materials.
These tools are suitable for applications including CFRP, GFRP, graphite, aluminium, non-ferrous alloys, plastics and other composite materials where dimensional consistency and surface finish are important.
Standard and bespoke designs
PCD ball-nose end mills can be supplied in standard sizes or designed around a specific machining application. Options may include different diameters, ball radii, cutting lengths, reaches, shank sizes and flute configurations.
For bespoke tooling, please provide the component material, machine details, required diameter and radius, cutting depth, reach and any existing machining or tool-life problems.
Manufacture, service and replacement
Tools are manufactured using a solid carbide body with PCD cutting edges. Depending on the design and condition, existing tools may also be suitable for inspection, sharpening, repair or replacement.
