Drilling Tools for Wood & Panel Processing
Our drilling tools machine timber, MDF, HDF, particle board, laminated panels and other wood-based materials.
Different drill geometries are available for blind holes, through holes, hinge boring, dowelling and other CNC or production-drilling applications.
In addition, we offer right- and left-hand versions in different diameters, cutting lengths and shank configurations.

TCT Hinge Boring Bits
TCT hinge boring bits produce accurate holes for hinge hardware in solid timber and panel materials.
The cutting geometry uses scoring spurs and cutting edges to help produce a clean hole in veneered, laminated and raw panel materials. Depending on the application, we can supply hinge boring bits with or without a brazed centre point.
Therefore, they work well on hinge boring machines, automatic boring machines and CNC machining centres.
The carbide cutting area also allows suitable tools to be resharpened during their working life.
TCT Lip & Spur Dowel Drills
TCT lip-and-spur dowel drills, often referred to as brad-point drills, are designed for accurate drilling in solid wood and panel materials.
Their cutting geometry helps locate the drill accurately and produce a clean hole while reducing breakout around the edge.
These drills are commonly used on stationary boring machines, automatic boring machines and CNC machining centres.
Right- and left-hand versions are available to suit different machine configurations.
TCT Through-Hole Drills
TCT through-hole drills produce clean holes through timber, plastics and wood-based panel materials.
The V-point cutting geometry helps the drill penetrate the material accurately while reducing breakout as the drill exits the underside of the panel.
In addition, they work with stationary boring machines, automatic boring machines and CNC machining centres.
Bespoke Drilling Tools
Not every drilling application can be covered by a standard-size tool.
Prima Tooling can manufacture bespoke woodworking drilling tools to suit particular diameters, cutting lengths, shank sizes, profiles or machine requirements.
We can work from an existing tool, drawing, component sample or details of the required hole.
