A PCD Compression Router Cutter is manufactured with one of the most durable cutting surfaces available, Therefore, providing the ideal solution when making critical, precision cuts in materials, such as particle board and MDF panels, melamine and paper laminated.

As well as HPL and foil laminated/veneered panels and plywood Hard and exotic woods. Plastics: Thermoplastics, duroplastics, Corian, Varicor and solid laminates.

A Compression Cutter is a combination of both an upcut and downcut. Simply put, the lower part is the up-cut and the upper part is the down cut.

With a PCD compression Router Cutter you ensure a chip free edge on the top & bottom.  The chips are pushed towards the middle of the cutter, therefore, reducing chipping on both the top and bottom faces of the material.

So if you were to use a compression to cut completely through a sheet of plywood you would have cleaner edges on both sides.

Suitable for long production runs with minimal defects, a compression with a small up-cut can also be used to produce shallow cut outs and pockets. They can be re-sharpened several times, again saving you money by not having to invest in new tooling.

The segmented PCD style is the most common design, and the teeth overlap each other so prevent any lines from becoming visible on the finished edge.

Why Use a PCD Compression Router Cutter?

When considering total cost per linear metre cut, a PCD Compression Router Cutter can provide significant advantage over conventional carbide routers.

PCD, being the hardest material known to man, requires special techniques to manufacture tools to the precise tolerances required. Speed and accuracy are the two main factors involved in tool manufacture. Ensuring that the customer not only gets his tools as quickly as possible after placing his order, also to enable tool maintenance and servicing times to be kept to an absolute minimum.
